With spring finally here and the first occasional rays of sunshine peering through the seemingly endless days of rain, we’re turning our thoughts to summer knitting projects. Luckily, Stylecraft has just released an all-new summer yarn, Cotton Twist, in eight stunning summery shades.
Made with 50% cotton and 50% acrylic, Stylecraft Cotton Twist is a double-knit yarn that balances breathability from the cotton with durability from the acrylic.

Spring Knitting and Crochet Projects: Blossom and Bloom Blankets

The first is the Blossom Crochet Along blanket – a vibrant blanket with pastel tones and flower motifs, ideal for picnics and beach days. Bloom KAL
The second is the Bloom Knit Along, which is available in two designs; an intarsia version for more advanced knitters and a simpler version for newer knitters, allowing everyone to take part in this wonderful KAL regardless of their skill level. For advanced knitters, the range of techniques promises to keep the project interesting throughout. Whilst beginner knitters might find the project more challenging, completing the project is guaranteed to improve your knitting skills and confidence.
Both designs use knitted squares with a delightful mix of stitches to create different textures for visual interest. The squares are joined with slip stitch and finished with a border to complete the blanket. The intarsia design features bold flower patterns, whilst the alternative blanket uses a simpler, more abstract design.
