How to Sew Up – KNITTING KNOW HOW

Do you hate sewing up after you have finished your knitting? Or struggle to sew your work together neatly? Learn this technique called ‘ladder’ or ‘mattress’ stitch to make sewing up quicker and easier.

‘Ladder’ or ‘mattress’ stitch creates a very neat, flat seam to your knitting, rather than the bulkiness of back-stitching. You can see the effect of your sewing up as you sew from the front of your work, so you can see how it would appear in front of you. Try this now to finish off those garments you may have avoided sewing up and see how quickly you can get them finished off!

See below for the step-by-step guide to ladder stitch and the downloadable copy, here.
